Abstract

Primary chest wall abscess without any predisposing site of infection is uncommon. Progressive increase in size of the chest wall mass and weight loss without any fever will divert our attention into tumour instead of infection. We present a case of a 68-year-old man with progressive swelling over his right anterior chest wall since past 2 months. Computed tomography (CT) suspicious of right anterior chest wall tumour with bone invasion. Histopathology examination of the mass favours right chest wall abscess with osteomyelitis of right 2nd rib.
