Abstract

Abstract

As podcasts continue to gain global popularity, they have become an important platform for sharing information and promoting social change. In Indonesia, podcasts are especially popular among female listeners, with a notable interest in content related to mental health. Female podcasters play a crucial role in shaping and sharing narratives around mental health, aiming to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and provide emotional support to their audience. This study aims to explore how Indonesian female podcasters construct mental health narratives, focusing on their methods and strategies for engaging their listeners. A qualitative research approach was employed to gather insights into the experiences and perspectives of female podcasters. In-depth interviews were conducted with Indonesian podcasters who are known for creating content centered on mental health topics. These interviews focused on how podcasters incorporate their personal experiences, professional expertise, and audience feedback into their content creation process. The findings reveal that Indonesian female podcasters actively contribute to reshaping the discourse on mental health by integrating diverse viewpoints and fostering a sense of inclusivity. Their podcasts not only address mental health issues but also challenge societal norms, helping to reduce stigma and promote a more open discussion of mental well-being. This research highlights the significant role of female podcasters in advancing mental health awareness in Indonesia. The study recommends further exploration of podcasting as an effective tool for social change, particularly in the context of mental health advocacy.
