Pendekatan Kontekstual Dalam Memahami Hadith-Hadith Rasulullah S.A.W.
Abstract
This article discussed the importance of contextual method in understanding prophetic tradition. The objective of this research is to identify the features and criteria of prophetic tradition that are suitable to be understood in a contextual manner. This identification is significant to the Muslim society in avoiding them from having any misunderstandings towards prophetic tradition or manipulating them from their rightful meaning. Some examples by Hadith scholars in using contextual method in their respective books will also be presented. Effects resulting from wrong interpretation towards prophetic tradition will also be exposed by presenting views from contemporary scholars.

Abstrak
Artikel ini membincangkan mengenai kepentingan pendekatan kontekstual dalam memahami hadith-hadith nabi s.a.w. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti ciri-ciri dan kriteria-kriteria hadith yang sesuai difahami secara kontekstual. Pengenalpastian kepada ciri-ciri dan kriteria-kriteria ini sangat penting diketahui oleh umat Islam bagi mengelakkan salah faham terhadap hadith-hadith nabi atau menyelewengkan maksudnya dari kehendak yang sebenar. Beberapa contoh penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual oleh ulama hadith terdahulu dalam kitab-kitab huraian hadith turut dikemukakan. Kajian juga mendedahkan kesan dan akibat daripada kesilapan dalam mengaplikasikan pendekatan ini dengan mengemukakan contoh- contoh dari pemahaman ulama Islam kontemporari terhadap hadith- hadith nabi s.a.w.
