Madaris al-funduq bi wilayah Kelantan bayna al-waqi‘ wa al-Manshud [Pondok Schools in Kelantan: Between Reality and Needs]

Abstract

تمتاز كلنتن الماليزية بوجود المدارس الأهلية الدينية، المصطلح على تسميتها مدارس الفوندوق، ولا يخفى على أحد الأدوار التي أدتها عبر تاريخها، من أجل نشر تعاليم الإسلام، والمحافظة على الحروف العربية المصطلح على تسميتها محليا بالحروف الجاوية، والمحافظة على العقيدة الأشعرية والمذهب الشافعي والتصوف الإسلامي، كما أن الفضل في تمسك الملايويين بالدين الإسلامي الحنيف والأخلاق الحميدة يعود إليها. مرت هذه المدارس على مراحل ثلاثة؛ البناء، والازدهار، والانحطاط. وعانت التهميش في عهد الاحتلال، واللامبالاة منذ الاستقلال إلى اليوم، حتى ذهب جلها ولم يبق إلا اسمها ورسمها أو أطلالها، وإن لم تدرك يد رحيمة ما تبقى من هذه المدارس بالإحياء، وتطوير مناهجها الدراسية، ونظامها التعليمي، كي تساير العصر، وبالمساعدة ماديا ومعنويا، والأخذ بيد طلبتها وشيوخها إلى مستقبل زاهر، فستنقرض. وهذه الدراسة تقوم بإبراز سبل النهوض بهذه القلاع العلمية والروحية، مع مراعاة طابعها وخصوصياتها، وتوصي بإدراك ما تبقى منها، وخاصة أنها جزء من تاريخ ماليزيا وتراثها الأصيل، الذي يجب الاهتمام به، وعدم التفريط فيه.

 

The privilege of Kelantan can be observed with the emergence of many religious schools known as Pondok school. It serves to spread the teachings of Islam, preserving Jawi scripts within the local community, safeguarding the integrity of the Aqidah Asyai’riyyah, the Syafei sect and sufism. This institution also contributes in upholding Malay identity and their Islamic belief, besides evolving through three important stages, namely construction, development and fall. The institution was marginalized during the colonial era and was not given serious attention since independence until now. Its success story and greatness has disappeared and no longer existed but only its name, memories, and ruin. This institution will experience extinction, if there is no effort to revive it, renew its curriculum, teaching and teaching system in line with the current education development, in addition to contributing physical infrastructures, and moral supports towards driving students and teachers to a better future. This study aims at highlighting some approaches to develop this valuable spiritual and its building, while maintaining the model and its particular features. It is therefore recommended that there be an effort to sustain this institution of learning, as it is part of a series of Malaysian history to be taken care of and should not be neglected at all.
