Kerangka Konseptual Integrasi Waqaf dan Ibtida’ dengan Teori Linguistik Arab dalam Kajian Al-Quran

Ilmu Waqaf dan Ibtida’ merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam tradisi ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān yang berperanan memastikan keutuhan makna dan kefasihan bacaan. Walau bagaimanapun, disiplin ini sering dikaji dalam kerangka tradisional tanpa diberikan perhatian yang mencukupi terhadap potensi integrasinya dengan ilmu linguistik moden. Kajian ini dijalankan dengan tujuan membina satu kerangka konseptual yang menggabungkan prinsip waqaf dan ibtida’ dengan teori linguistik Arab merangkumi aspek sintaksis, semantik, pragmatik dan Balāghah. Reka bentuk kualitatif berasaskan analisis konseptual digunakan melalui kajian kepustakaan terhadap sumber klasik dan kontemporari. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa kategori waqaf mempunyai hubungan rapat dengan analisis sintaksis, manakala ibtida’ yang tepat terbukti mengekalkan kesinambungan makna dari sudut semantik. Dimensi pragmatik pula menjelaskan kepentingan konteks komunikasi dalam menentukan kesesuaian berhenti dan memulakan bacaan, sementara dimensi balaghah menegaskan nilai retorik yang terserlah apabila waqaf dan ibtida’ diaplikasikan dengan betul. Kerangka konseptual yang dihasilkan bukan sahaja mengekalkan autoriti tradisi ulum al-Quran, malah memperluasnya dengan asas linguistik moden yang lebih saintifik.Implikasi kajian ini dapat dilihat dalam dua bidang utama. Pertama, ia memberikan nilai tambah kepada masyarakat awam melalui peningkatan kefahaman dan kualiti tadabbur al-Quran. Kedua, ia menawarkan asas yang kukuh kepada institusi pendidikan Islam untuk membangunkan modul pengajaran waqaf dan ibtida’ berasaskan integrasi linguistik moden. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian ini membuktikan bahawa pendekatan integratif mampu menyumbang kepada perkembangan penyelidikan al-Quran kontemporari serta pengukuhan metodologi dalam pengajian Islam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa kategori waqaf mempunyai hubungan rapat dengan analisis sintaksis, manakala ibtida’ yang tepat terbukti mengekalkan kesinambungan makna dari sudut semantik. Dimensi pragmatik pula menjelaskan kepentingan konteks komunikasi dalam menentukan kesesuaian berhenti dan memulakan bacaan, sementara dimensi balaghah menegaskan nilai retorik yang terserlah apabila waqaf dan ibtida’ diaplikasikan dengan betul. science of Waqf and Ibtidāʾ is one of the essential components in the tradition of ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān, serving to ensure the integrity of meaning and fluency of recitation. However, this discipline is often studied within a traditional framework without sufficient attention given to its potential integration with modern linguistic sciences. This study was conducted with the aim of developing a conceptual framework that integrates the principles of waqf and ibtidāʾ with Arabic linguistic theories encompassing syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and balāghah. A qualitative design based on conceptual analysis was employed through a literature review of both classical and contemporary sources. The findings indicate that the categories of waqf are closely linked to syntactic analysis, while accurate ibtidāʾ is proven to preserve the continuity of meaning from a semantic perspective. The pragmatic dimension highlights the importance of communicative context in determining appropriate pauses and resumptions, while the balāghah dimension emphasizes the rhetorical value that emerges when waqf and ibtidāʾ are applied correctly. The resulting conceptual framework not only preserves the authority of the Qur’anic sciences tradition but also expands it with a more scientific foundation derived from modern linguistics. The implications of this study can be observed in two main areas. First, it adds value for the general public by enhancing understanding and the quality of Qur’anic reflection (tadabbur). Second, it provides a strong foundation for Islamic educational institutions to develop teaching modules on waqf and ibtidāʾ based on the integration of modern linguistics. Overall, this study demonstrates that an integrative approach can contribute to the advancement of contemporary Qur’anic research as well as the strengthening of methodology in Islamic studies
