Malaysian Journal for Islamic Studies
is a refereed journal published by UniSZA and Majlis Dekan-dekan Pengajian Islam. MJIS is committed to the development of knowledge by encouraging discussion of the various branches of the discipline of Islamic studies and social sciences. The journal publishes articles, book reviews, and research reports of interest to scholars, especially in terms of content and approach. This journal is published in Bahasa Melayu, English or Arabic.

 

Call for Papers!

Malaysian Journal for Islamic Studies provides a platform for diverse and interdisciplinary work, including original research papers from within and outside the Muslim world, reviews and review articles, to investigate transformations in community relations, religion, politics culture, society and civilization. The target of Malaysian Journal for Islamic Studies is global readership. This Refereed international Journal provides a transcultural academic sphere that engages scholars in a critical dialogue on ethnicity, politics, religion and culture in this today world. It also provides a forum for debate on moderation, modernity and coexistence.

MJIS’s long-term objective is to provide a vehicle for developing mutual understanding for coexistence and contribute to better world community relations. The Journal promotes work that reorientates dominant concepts and presumptions of Muslim-Western relations. The MJIS strives to realize the following aims:

1. Enhancing and promoting scientific research in community relations, politics and religion.

2. Developing cultural understanding, religious tolerance and interfaith of diverse worldviews

3. Promoting civilizational dialogue

4. Supporting peaceful coexistence in and prosperity of the whole world.

MJIS is published twice a year and will be online world wide. The first issue will appear in January 2017. Particular interests include but are not limited to:

Article Processing Charge:

Malaysian Journal of Islamic Studies (MJIS) is completely open access. 

Beginning January 2021, the Article Processing Charge is RM200.00 (USD50).

 

Focus and Scope

Encourage and publish research in the field of Islamic contemporary issues. The term Islamic Studies is broadly defined. Consistent with this policy, the Malaysian Journal for Islamic Studies publishes research in all fields of Islamic studies.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process
The journal uses double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers and authors identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by three experts; two reviewers from outside and one editor from the journal typically involve in reviewing a submission.

Publication Frequency

Published twice a year in June and December

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
