This research examines the portrayal of Imam Malik's Muwatta's scholarly significance and its methodologies in the modern books. The Muwatta, a foundational work in both hadith and jurisprudence, has had a profound influence on the development of Islamic sciences. While many scholars have studied and commented on this text—discussing its narrators, the authenticity of its hadiths, and its methodological framework—gaps and ambiguities remain in these analyses. This study aims to address these gaps by presenting a clear and concise explanation of the Muwatta’s methodology. The research is structured into an introduction, three main sections, and a conclusion. The introduction outlines the importance of the topic. The first section delves into Imam Malik’s scholarly life, the second focuses on the Muwatta itself, and the third analyzes Imam Malik’s methodological approach in compiling the text. The conclusion offers key findings from the study. Given the high status of hadith scholarship, this research contributes to the ongoing tradition of preserving and understanding the prophetic teachings, following in the footsteps of notable scholars such as Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr, al-Suyuti, Qadi ‘Iyad, and Shah Wali Allah al-Dihlawi.
