The Asian Journal of Medicine and Biomedicine (AJMB) is an open access, free and double-blind peer-reviewed journal encompassing all scopes and areas of Medicine, Community Health, Medical Education, Health Sciences and Biomedicine. The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public in order to support a greater global exchange of knowledge.
AJMB is published by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) and currently indexed in Google Scholar and MyCite.
The Journal and its editorial team welcome the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. In terms of language, AJMB only accepts manuscripts written in English language.
Electronic submission of manuscripts is strongly encouraged, provided that the text, tables, and figures are included in a single Microsoft Word file (preferably in Arial font). e-AJMB publishes articles that focus on cutting-edge findings in the field mentioned above. AJMB also publishes case reports on different clinical findings, hence sharing not only knowledge but the experience of specialists and consultants in the related fields.
Average Processing Time: The average processing time from receipt to acceptance for publication of an article is six months. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, it will be uploaded as an early online edition of the e-AJMB.

Manuscripts submitted to AJMB will be checked for plagiarisme using Turnitin with the acceptable score below 24%. Manuscripts are assessed by our experienced in-house editorial team, who take all decisions based on an extensive and rigorous peer review process by academic experts who specialize in the manuscript topic/field. Peer reviewers are expert chosen by journal editors to provide written assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of a manuscript with the aim of producing the highest quality materials of the journal. Peer reviewers for the journal are also selected by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board Members. All manuscripts are subjected to rigorous double-blind peer review provided the authors have adequately removed all identifying information from the manuscript. The review process involves an objective assessment of the scientific rigor of the research as well its significance and contribution to advancing knowledge in the field. The review process typically takes up to 6 months. The author/s is obliged to do revisions if required.

Publication Ethics And Malpractice Statement
This is the statement of ethics for AJMB published by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Malaysia (UniSZA). This statement was adapted from the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and covers the code of ethics for Editor-in-Chief, editorial board members, reviewers and authors.
AUTHORS
- are responsible in ensuring only original work is submitted.
- must not reproduce work that has been previously published in other journals.
- must not submit any articles that are being reviewed or considered by the journal to other journals simultaneously.
- are only allowed to publish their work elsewhere after receiving a formal rejection from the journal or if their request to withdraw their work is officially accepted by the journal.
- must inform the Editor-in-Chief or the publisher of any inaccuracy of data in their published work so that correction or retraction of article can be done.
- should make significant contributions and be held accountable for any shortcoming in their work.
REVIEWERS
- must disclose any competing interest before agreeing to review a submission.
- can refuse to review any submission due to a conflict of interest or inadequate knowledge.
- review all submissions objectively, fairly and professionally.
- reveal any ethical misconduct encountered while reviewing to the Editor-in-Chief for further action.
- should ensure the originality of a submission and be alert to any plagiarism and redundant publication.
- must not discuss the content of the submission without permission.
- adhere to the time allocated for the review process. Requests for extension to review the submission are at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
PLAGIARISM
Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized, and has not been published or being considered elsewhere. Appropriate softwares may be used by the editorial office to check for similarities of submitted manuscripts with existing literature. Inclusion of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements is unacceptable. Work and/or words from other publications must be appropriately cited or quoted.
REPORTING
Authors should state their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. The methods used in the work should be clearly and unambiguously described so that the findings can be repeated and confirmed by other researchers.
CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
A statement on conflict of interest must be included in the manuscript if authors receive any support that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
AUTHORSHIP AND COLLABORATION
Name of authors listed in a paper should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the report. Only those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the work must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. It is the duty of the corresponding author to ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to the version of the paper before submission.
MULTIPLE OR REDUNDANT
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research output in more than one journal or primary publication. A similar manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal concurrently as this constitutes as unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
COPYRIGHT OWNER / COPYRIGHT HOLDER
Authors retain copyright to their work without restrictions. The author has full control over the work (e.g., retains the right to reuse, distribute, republish, etc.).
AUTHORSHIP
The consent of all authors, as well as related authorities/institutions, has been received prior to the submission of the manuscript. The order of the authors (as to be reflected on the published article) has been established. The adding or deleting of authors once the manuscript has been accepted for publication would have to be accompanied by a signed statement of consent of all authors. All authors have contributed significantly to the research. Authors are obligated to participate in the peer-review process, providing retractions/ corrections/ amendments when necessary. All conflicts of interest/financial support have been declared.
