Every year Muslims go to Makkah to perform the Hajj. They perform tawaf by circling the Kaaba seven times as a condition of fulfilling the pillars of Hajj. However, many of those performing this Hajj do not know the history of the construction of the square black stone. This causes the appreciation of the pillars of Hajj to be less appreciated. This paper narratively describes the history of the construction of the glorious Kaaba which was done by Prophet Ibrahim (as) and Prophet Ismail (as). In addition to this, this paper also discusses the life of Prophet Ibrahim together with his wife Siti Sarah and Siti Hajar before the history of the construction of the Kaaba. Also discussed are the buildings around the Kaaba, namely Maqam Ibrahim (as), Hajarul Aswad, Hijr Ismail (as) and Zamzam well. This writing uses a content analysis approach to the material related to the history of Prophet Ibrahim (as) and the history of the construction of the Kaaba. With an understanding of the history of the construction of the Kaabah, this will further improve the appreciation and quality of the Hajj rituals performed.
