Abstract

Salah satu tanggungjawab ejen takaful daripada perspektif Islam ialah mereka perlu menerapkan akhlak yang baik sebagai seorang peniaga yang beretika. Hal ini kerana ejen takaful bertanggungjawab memberikan maklumat jelas berkenaan pelan, produk, terma dan syarat serta manfaat yang akan diterima oleh peserta takaful. Oleh sebab itu, akhlak yang baik sangat penting bagi setiap ejen takaful. Persoalannya, dalam mempromosikan produk takaful, terdapat kemungkinan ejen takaful mempunyai akhlak yang tidak selaras dengan ajaran al-Qur’an dan Sunnah. Timbul persoalan, apakah akhlak ejen takaful menurut perspektif peserta takaful? Bagaimanakah akhlak ejen takaful mempengaruhi gelagat etika kerja ejen takaful? Bagi menjawab persoalan ini, kertas kerja ini mempunyai dua objektif. Pertama, mengenal pasti tahap akhlak ejen takaful; kedua, menganalisis pengaruh tahap akhlak ejen takaful terhadap gelagat etika kerja ejen takaful menurut perspektif peserta takaful. Data dikumpul daripada kajian lapangan sebanyak 397 orang responden dan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif iaitu statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferens. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan bahawa ejen takaful mempunyai akhlak yang baik dilihat daripada enam perkara. Perspektif peserta takaful terhadap akhlak ejen takaful yang paling tinggi adalah tingkah laku ejen takaful yang baik daripada segi menghormati pelanggan dan layanan yang diberikan manakala akhlak ejen takaful yang paling rendah menurut perspektif peserta takaful adalah pada ucapan yang benar dalam menjelaskan manfaat dan kekurangan produk. 

 

From an Islamic perspective, one of the responsibilities of takaful agents is that they must practise excellent akhlaq as a ethical businessman. This is because the takaful agent is responsible for providing clear information regarding the plan, products, terms and conditions and benefits that will be received by takaful participants. Therefore, good akhlaq are very important to every takaful agent. The question is whether or not takaful agents may have akhlaq that are contrary to the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah while promoting takaful products. The question arises, what are the akhlaq of takaful agents according to the perspective of takaful participants? How does the behavior of takaful agents affect the ethical behavior of takaful agents? To answer this question, this paper has two objectives. First, to identify the akhlaq level of the takaful agent; second, to analyzed the influence of takaful agent's akhlaq level towards work ethic behavior of takaful agent according to the takaful participant’s perspective. Data was collected from a fieldwork of 397 respondents and will be analyzed using quantitative methods namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results show that takaful agents have good akhlaq. The behavior of the takaful agent in terms of respecting the takaful participant and the service provided is viewed as the greatest of takaful participant’s perspective towards takaful agent’s akhlaq. The lowest perspective of takaful participant’s towards takaful agent’s akhlaq is in telling the truth while describing the advantages and disadvantages of the product.
