The Role of WhatsApp in Spreading the Arabic Language and Literary Culture in Nigeria

Abstract

Social Media sites, including WhatsApp, are part of the development of technological life in the urban field, which imposed itself on all intellectuals’ personnel, especially in spreading the humanities all over the world. WhatsApp has and continues to play a tangible role in spreading the Arabic language and its culture in human society. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the roles played by WhatsApp in spreading this human culture in Nigeria and follows the historical approach to investigate historical facts and temporal events related to this topic, then adopts the descriptive approach to describe and analyze the roles played by WhatsApp in spreading this Arabic language and its literary culture in Nigeria. The findings of this study were that the WhatsApp application contributes greatly to spreading the Arabic language and its literary culture in Nigeria. Therefore, the Arabic student can obtain useful information through this application. It is also easy to present a scientific, religious, literary, linguistic or political issue through this website and obtain a group of scholars who provide the desired answers to that issue through the body of the group members.
