The Effectiveness of GitMind in Summarizing Arabic Syntax through the Project-Based Learning Method

This study aims to identify how teaching is conducted in summarizing Arabic syntax through the project-based learning method using a conceptual map by utilizing the GitMind application; to study the effectiveness of this application on students in the process of summarizing Arabic syntax. This study is a descriptive study using observation and interview as a tool for collecting information. Five students at the master’s level who were registered in the course on methods of teaching Arabic as a second language at the International Islamic University Malaysia were selected as the sample for this study. This study was then conducted using the process of micro-teaching via online learning, and then the interview was conducted. The study concluded the effectiveness of the GitMind application in summarizing Arabic syntax, as it, with its features, makes the process of summarizing Arabic syntax easy and fast, and helps students recall previous information through the conceptual map obtained by the application. When GitMind was used with the project-based learning method, it makes the lesson lively and gives students new experience in reviewing lessons.
