Abstract

The Integrated Dini Curriculum (KBD), known as the Curriculum and Assessment Standard Document DSKP KBD Review 2022, incorporates the subjects of Adab and Nusus, which are derived from the syllabus and textbooks of the Al-Azhari curriculum. The teaching of these subjects primarily focuses on translation methods to aid in comprehending the content. A model suggested by Carter and Long (1991) in the context of English literature for literature teaching has been established. This study aims to explore Arabic language teachers' perspectives on the applicability of this model, particularly its potential adaptation for teaching Arabic literature within the KBD curriculum. To gather data, the study employed interviews with five Arabic language teachers from three public universities. The findings suggest that the proposed model is appropriate and can be effectively adapted for teaching Arabic literature in the KBD curriculum. This study recommends the adoption of this model as a reference for teaching the subjects of Adab and Nusus to non-native students.
