Sarawakiana Collection Management Policy In Sarawak State Library

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine which policies are in place in the Sarawak State Library for the management of the Sarawakiana collection. Every collection at a large or small institution contains significant value in terms of history, heritage, treasures, aesthetics, and other factors. In the management of a collection, policy is very important. Most of organisation’s management is done in accordance with the plan or plans that have been made to meet in the collection's maintenance. The researcher employed qualitative approaches such as interviews and documentation.

Abstrak: Kajian ini adalah untuk mengenalpasti aspek polisi yang dilaksanakan dalam pengurusan koleksi Sarawakiana di Pustaka Negeri Sarawak. Setiap koleksi yang dikumpulkan dalam sesebuah institusi yang besar mahu pun yang kecil mengandungi nilai yang tinggi dari segi sejarah, warisan, khazanah, estetika dan lain-lain. Peranan polisi memberi kepentingan yang sangat besar dalam pengurusan sesebuah koleksi. Oleh itu, kebanyakan pengurusan sesebuah organisasi adalah mengikut perancangan atau pelan yang telah dilakukan bagi memenuhi dalam pengekalan sesebuah koleksi. Pengkaji menggunakan kaedah kualitatif seperti temu bual dan pendokumentasian di Pustaka Negeri Sarawak yang berpusat di kawasan Sarawak.
