Abstract

Abstract

Social media is one of the most widely used social media platforms. It is known that social media has the potential to influence people's social interactions. However, the relationship between personality and social interaction has not been investigated. This study is aimed at investigating how personality characteristics affect social interaction. The study uses a survey methodology and a questionnaire split into two sections with distinct goals as a research tool. A total of 100 people participated as respondents for this investigation. The results of this study revealed that there is a relationship between social interaction and personality. Social interaction has a significant effect on personality. Also, the impact of social media can provide an atmosphere for a considerable amount of people to openly communicate with unknown individuals about many different kinds of topics, particularly current events occurring both domestically and internationally. The findings also revealed that social interaction may improve and ease social contact, adding a new dimension to the hypothesis.
