The Importance of Language Skills Interconnectedness in the Teaching of Arabic to Non-Native Speakers

Abstract

The present study aims at providing a systematic and scientific vision in teaching Arabic to its non-native speakers to develop the learner's linguistic performance and reach the highest level of linguistic performance easily. The importance of this vision resides in the relatedness of language skills. That is, it comes from its active role in facilitating teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The study adopted the analytical survey process where an electronic questionnaire was distributed to students in the Language Centre of the University of Jordan from the first semester of the university year (2023/2024). The sample of the study consisted of 203 participants, studying Arabic at levels 5 and 6. The findings of the study emphasized the importance of language skills interconnectedness. The results also revealed the effectiveness of this process in developing language sufficiency among learners of Arabic as non-native speakers. conclusion, the interconnectedness of language skills is effective in language teaching as it enables learners to develop their language level easily and easily. The current study therefore recommends that this methodology be used in the language's educational process.
