Abstract

The innovation "SaBBAr" is an abbreviation for Connect and Read Arabic sentences that apply the matching of rumi-arabic letters. This innovation is carried out to improve students' skills in reading Arabic words by using the "SaBBAr" Method. Based on observation and reflection in learning and facilitation, there are students who still do not master the skill of reading Arabic words, especially for non-Muslim students and remedial students. Therefore, a new teaching technique using a gamification learning approach in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) which is the "SaBBAr" method has been designed to solve this problem. In this study, the Kemmis & Mc Taggart (1988) model was used in implementing the steps of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Observation instruments, interviews, oral tests and document analysis were used by the researcher to collect information and study data. Two study cycles were used by the researcher to achieve the objectives of the innovation study to improve students' skills and interest in reading Arabic words and help improve teachers' teaching practices. In conclusion, the implementation of the "SaBBAr" method has changed students' behavior and interest in reading as well as helping teachers in improving the teaching practice of reading Arabic words. This innovation has also successfully proven its effectiveness when it has been tested on several students from different backgrounds and different types of school localities, this "SaBBAr" innovation can also be applied by the community to learn to read the Al-Quran and cultivate the education of the industri 4.0 revolution.
