Ketagihan dadah merupakan masalah kritikal yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat dunia. Ini disebabkan oleh penyebarannya yang tidak terkawal dan ketiadaan solusi berkesan untuk mengatasinya. Antara kaedah pemulihan penagih adalah melalui institusi-institusi pemulihan, namun timbul isu keterbatasan dana dalam mengekalkan operasi di pusat pemulihan, terutamanya yang diselia oleh pihak persendirian. Justeru, usaha pemulihan dadah memerlukan sumber kewangan yang lebih bervariasi dan antara sumber yang boleh di eksplorasi adalah filantropi. Objektif penulisan ini adalah untuk meneroka ruang-ruang filantropi yang ada dalam fiqh Islam yang berpotensi untuk digunakan dalam melestarikan proses pemulihan dadah. Kajian kepustakaan berasaskan kajian kualitatif menganalisis maklumat-maklumat yang diperoleh secara induktif dan deduktif.  Kajian mendapati bahawa filantropi adalah sesuatu yang sememangnya berakar-umbi dalam nas-nas syarak dan fiqh Islam.  Pendanaan sumber-sumber filantropi dalam bidang pemulihan sememangnya mempunyai asas menurut fiqh. Begitu pun ia perlu ditimbang secara strategik mengikut keperluan masa dan kepentingan umum.  Implikasi kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa filantropi adalah salah satu jalan penyelesaian yang boleh digunakan dalam memastikan kelestarian operasi sesuatu pusat pemulihan demi pembangunan komuniti.

Abstract

Drug addiction is a problem faced by societies globally. Other than its rampant outspread and no identifiable solution in sight, limited financial support in rehabilitating addicts is also a major problem in sustaining rehabilitation centres especially centres run by private. Rehabilitation effort need a variety of financial sources among which that can be explored is philanthropy. This paper aims to explore philanthropic capacity in Islamic jurisprudence that may be used in sustaining drug rehabilitation process. This paper will utilize qualitative method in analysing materials collected inductively and deductively. This paper finds that philanthropy definitely has its roots in Islamic scriptures and its jurisprudence. Philanthropic funding for rehabilitation also has its base in Islamic jurisprudence. Although that may be the case, it needs to be balanced according to time of need and public interest. This paper implicates that philanthropy is a practical solution that can be utilised in sustaining rehabilitation centres operations for the sake of community development.
