Organisational Behaviour from Islamic Perspective: A Study on Ethical Climate, Ethical Leadership and Positive Behaviour

Abstract

Ethical leadership and positive behaviour in organisational behaviour hold vital significance in contemporary organisational management. Nonetheless, their application in public or private sectors often falls short of desired outcomes due to mounting instances of misconduct and breaches in organisational governance. Therefore, augmenting ethical leadership and positive behaviour with an ethical climate becomes imperative. This concept paper introduces a theoretical model encompassing ethical leadership and positive behaviour, as well as ethical climate as mediating factors in organisational behaviour management. The model is formulated and elucidated using Bandura's Social Learning Theory and al-Ghazali's Organizational Management Theory. A content analysis of earlier research pertaining to ethical climate, ethical leadership, and positive behaviour emphasises that cultivating an ethical climate in support of ethical leadership and positive behaviour yields positive outcomes for organisations. This article strives to enhance organisational development within practitioner circles and make a valuable scholarly contribution.
