Abstract

The transition to retirement poses unique challenges for self-employed individuals, who lack the structured retirement plans available to their traditionally employed counterparts. This study aims to shed light on the issue of retirement planning for self-employed individuals, with a focus on evaluating the benefits of utilizing bonds, sukuk, and ESG investments in securing a financially stable future. This study explores the challenges faced by self-employed individuals in preparing for retirement and investigates the benefits of integrating bonds, sukuk, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investments into customized portfolios tailored to their unique financial goals and risk tolerances. This study explores Customized Investment Portfolios with bonds, sukuk, and ESG investments, utilizing a qualitative approach through extensive library and online research. It examines the practicality, usefulness, and market potential of tailored investment solutions for long-term financial security and alignment with personal values. The innovation lies in proposing Customized Investment Portfolios, designed to balance risk and return, while considering ethical values and long-term sustainability. The findings reveal that a carefully crafted portfolio integrating these investment types can provide self-employed individuals with a robust and diversified approach to retirement planning. Moreover, the study emphasizes the significance of holistic retirement planning, encompassing not only financial considerations but also risk management, periodic monitoring, and contingency strategies. By uncovering the benefits of bonds, sukuk, and ESG investments within tailored portfolios, the research aims to empower self-employed individuals with knowledge and tools to navigate retirement successfully. The contribution of this study lies in bridging the gap in retirement preparedness for the self-employed, offering a comprehensive guide that facilitates informed decision-making and fosters financial security in their golden years.
